Play time is very important for a healthy, happy bunny. In the wild they run and play, and are have a LOT of energy. That does not change much living with you. Taking time to bunny proof your house, yard, or finding somewhere for them to run and play essential. Not only will this benefit your rabbit, but it can be down right entertaining for you too! Make sure that you have secured any cords or wires, toxic chemicals, or anything else that could pose a danger to your rabbit. They are very currious and love to nibble, rub on, jump on, mark, and play with about anything. Toys are a lot of fun and can keep your friend out of trouble with things that you don’t want played with. They do not have to be expensive, and you can find many things around your house that make entertaining your pet easy. Here are some ideas!
Teeth continually grow, so they need to chew on untreated wood, untreated sticks off of apple trees are non-toxic, and they LOVE them! Cardboard boxes with at least 2 entry holes are a riot. Not only can they crawl in, but jump on top too. Now what could be more fun than that? Other toys could be a simple phone books that they can shred and dig through, hard plastic baby toys like keys
or rattles that they can shake and toss. Make sure that any toy that you present to them is non-toxic, and does not have sharp parts that could be ingested and cause problems. Untreated wicker baskets and simmilar items are fun as well.
